Hailing from South-central Sweden, Sten Lindstrand and Andreas Svensson have been playing traditional Swedish tunes together for over 20 years, with a focus on keeping the music as local and rooted as possible.
Sten began playing fiddle at the age of seven. “I played my first traditional tunes in my grandfather’s kitchen when I was seven. Today, I still play his fiddle—bought in Germany in 1921.”
Andreas has been playing accordion for 35 years, and has been deeply involved in the folk scene through dance, organizing workshops, concerts, and festivals.
Together, Sten and Andreas frequently perform their own compositions—Sten has written about 60–70 tunes, and Andreas has composed more than 1,200. Fun fact: If they were to play every one of them, it would take 53.5 hours non-stop!
Sten and Andreas will once again share the stage with their friend Graham Lindsey, whom they’ve known and played alongside for many years.
